This year the Mike Sweeney’s Children in Need Extravaganza will be bigger than ever before with the show taking place in the main auditorium at The Lowry, meaning over 800 tickets are available at a cost of £10 each. BBC Children In Need will receive £5 from each ticket sale and the rest will go to The Lowry’s Christmas Appeal after costs.

As announced on Mike’s programme on BBC Radio Manchester this morning, this year’s Extravaganza will be a mix of well-known names and local acts who will all perform at the pre-recorded radio show on Thursday 6 December. It will then be broadcast the following day on Friday 7 December between 9am-12. Mike will be joined on stage by many acts including Peter Hook and the Manchester Survivors Choir.

Mike Sweeney said: “This is one of the best things in my year! The Extravaganza is an amazing event and a chance for people to see their favourite local acts and a few famous faces live on stage. We always have lots of fun, plus anyone who buys a ticket will be helping to raise money in aid of BBC Children in Need….it couldn’t be better.:.

Tickets for Mike Sweeney’s Children in Need Extravaganza at The Lowry Theatre this December go on sale from today, Friday 14 September.
