One for the diary of anyone who wants to learn more about the region’s experiences of the First World War.

This Tuesday the 8th April, Terry Dean will tell the story of 1914 through the experiences of the Lancashire regiments who went to France in 1914.

His talk, at the Manchester Military Society History, will cover the movement of the BEF to France, the battles at Mons, le Cateau and the engagements during the famous retreat. Also included are the battles of the Marne, Aisne and 1st Ypres.
