Manchester born and raised Wade Lewin, who is currently enjoying a glittering career as a dancer on the West End and beyond, is coming to Waterside in Sale, Trafford on Sunday 29 April in a remarkable new production of Scheherazade and 1001 Nights.

Wade was born in Manchester and went to Stretford Grammar School. Five years with the Trafford Youth Dance Theatre gave him fantastic early training and a stint as a dancer with the Manchester disco show Love Train convinced him that life a dancer was what he was born to do.

Wade moved to London and quickly won a part in the massive West End hit The Lion King. Millions around the world then saw him as a dancer in the Olympics opening ceremony, and as a Nefarious Inferi in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He has just finished filming alongside Will Smith in Disney’s Aladdin.

However, he says that Company of Dreams’ production of Scheherazade and 1001 Nights is like nothing he’s ever done before and he’s really excited for everyone back home to see it.

“This show is so unique and so thrilling. The storyline is really dramatic – people actually gasped out loud when we did it in London, and the dancing is amazing. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

The show, which recently sold out two nights at London’s Sadler’s Wells, tells the story of the brave and resourceful Scheherazade, who saves the lives of the women of the land by telling magical stories to a vengeful king. The stories she tells, such as Sinbad, Ali Baba, Aladdin have captivated people around the world for centuries.

Company of Dreams’ production is dramatic and thrilling, using fire artistry, illusion and heart stopping lifts as well as a powerful fusion of dance styles and music to create atmosphere and drama.

The show is coming to the Waterside in Sale on Sunday 29 April at 7pm. Tickets cost £16 (concessions £14) and are available from www.watersidearts.org or 0161 912 5616.
