Detectives are appealing for information after a man was bundled into a car and attacked in Hyde yesterday

The assault is believed to have taken place sometime between 2.30pm and 9.30pm that day.

The man had been approached from behind in the Lime Grove and Hyde Road area of Denton by three men who hit him round the head before forcing him into a car.

The man was then taken to an address nearby where he was attacked again before being put back in the car but was able to escape and flee.

The man suffered serious injuries to his ribs and jaw and remains in hospital for treatment.

An investigation has been launched and police are now appealing for information.

One of the men is described as Asian, 5ft 7in, stocky build, in his late 30’s with black hair.

Detective Inspector Julie Maxwell, of GMP’s Tameside borough, said: “This was a serious and prolonged attack that has left the victim extremely shaken with some nasty injuries.

“We believe this is an isolated incident that poses no threat to the wider community but we need the public’s help to find the men responsible.

“It happened on a busy road where people may have been around and seen something. No piece of information is too small.

“I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a blue Vauxhall Corsa in the area at the time.”
