A man in his twenties was stabbed in Wythenshawe last night.

Police say that a car pulled up outside a house on Moat Road around 10.15 when a group of peoplesome approached the car dragging the man from the vehicle and assaulting him.The group then fled the scene.

The man was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, he remains in a stable condition.

Witnesses to the incident are encouraged to come forward.

Detective Inspector Madeline Kelly of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “We’re piecing together exactly what happened but I cannot stress the importance that information is passed to us to help us investigate this incident.

“The offenders have left this man in a serious condition with no concern for the injuries they have caused.

“Do you know who these men were? Were you in the area at the time or did you see anything suspicious? Whatever information you have, we need it.”
