With most of us being treated to three days off work this coming bank holiday weekend, why not make the most of it and head to the new Lowry Outlet Makers Market from Saturday 27th August – Monday 29th August 2016.

Lowry Outlet, MediaCityUK, is collaborating with The Makers Market to bring its shoppers an array of quality artisan foods, drinks and award-winning craftsmen to its open-air Plaza area, with the first ever event launching on the bank holiday weekend; following that Lowry Outlet Makers Market will run on the final weekend of every month.

Families can make a day of it, couples can indulge and friends can catch up over a cup of craft coffee or a traditional real ale. As well as showcasing award-winning local food, drink, art and craft producers, there will also be live music, performance, cookery demonstrations and activities for children too.

This bank holiday weekend, Lowry Outlet Makers Market will host 107 different stalls across the three-day launch – with stall holders changing each day, meaning there is something new to come and see. Whether it’s something for dinner, a unique gift for someone special or stocking up on those everyday essentials, Lowry Outlet Makers Market is a wonderful day out for the whole family.

During the launch weekend, shoppers can browse award-winning cheeses and pies, locally brewed ales, doorstop sized brownies, posh tarts, rustic breads, vegan treats, spicy sauces, locally produced jams and chutneys and salt and spice gins. Discover vintage trinkets and handmade crafts, plus Urban Photography from Ben Sedman, potted plants by the talented couple behind Shrubbies and retro and music lead art by Salford artist, The No.71 Legends Room.

Local musicians performing, include, Trafford based, Loose Change Buskers, who have raised a staggering £285k for Cancer Research UK. An incredible group of musicians, who have performed nearly every weekend, for the last five years, to raise money. They perform a lively set of classic tracks from Brown Eyed Girl to Country Road.

Victoria Jackson, Event Director of The Makers Market, said ‘We are thrilled to be working with Lowry Outlet on this event. It is a privilege to bring together a fabulous mix of artisans and food talent, which complements the Lowry Outlet’s current offerings. And with the great music performers joining us, our launch weekend is set to be a great weekend. We will be showcasing handpicked producers and arts and crafts, with tantalising products designed to inspire.”

Kelly Hurst, Centre Manger at Lowry Outlet said “We are excited to be joining forces with The Makers Markets – the new monthly markets will be a welcome addition and complement the shops, restaurants and entertainment on offer at the Lowry Outlet. The Makers Market has some fantastic stalls to bring to, what is already, a vibrant destination at MediaCityUK – enhancing the shopping experience and making it a great day out for everyone.”
