The ECB has today confirmed that Lancashire Captain Liam Livingstone will be available for the start of the season.

The 24 year-old has been in New Zealand with the England squad for the last three weeks and returns back to the UK in the coming days following the conclusion of the Test Series this morning.

He will not be available for Lancashire’s three-day fixture against Loughborough which starts on Friday but is available for the opening game of the Specsavers County Championship against Nottinghamshire at Emirates Old Trafford a week on Friday (13 April).

The England management have yet to make a decision on the early-season availability of James Anderson.

Jos Buttler is unavailable for the start of the season after his selection in the Indian Premier League. He will play for the Rajasthan Royals with their first fixture taking place on the 9 April whilst the IPL final takes place on 27 May.
