Oldham Athletic have announced the loan signing of Dutch star Queensy Menig from French Ligue 1 side Nantes.

The highly-rated Menig came through the youth ranks at Dutch giants Ajax where he made a number of competitive appearances.

At the age of 19, he was already a regular in the Jong Ajax side, scoring 11 goals in 30 appearances.

Menig has spent the last two seasons playing for PEC Zwolle on loan in Holland’s top division, Eredivisie.

The winger made 66 appearances and scored 15 goals which earned him a lucrative move to Ligue 1 side Nantes, who are coached by former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri.

Menig has been capped by the Netherlands from under 16s through to the under 21 team where he was made five appearances.

Speaking about his move, Queensy said: “It feels good to be here finally and I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do.

“England is a big country to play football in and now I have the chance to show everyone what I am made of.

“I can take players on, I am a quick player and I want to help the team as much as I can.”
