Digital Telecomms UK, which provides business telephone services, has set up shop at the Crown Business Park at Cowm Top, bringing 9 members of staff, with plans to employ more in the coming months.

Company director Lorna Ferry, said: “Our sister company is still based in Kearsley, but we wanted to find a new base for Digital Telecomms UK, as we were expanding quickly. We spent 6 months searching throughout Greater Manchester and found the perfect location here in Rochdale. The building is great and the numbers just worked. The location is obviously really good too. I’ve always been a Rochdale girl, so it’s great to be working here as well as living here.”

Fellow director Nathan Welsh added: “We’re really excited about our company’s future in Rochdale. We’ve had a great welcome. The council has already helped us get small business rates relief and we we’re hoping to use local apprentices from Rochdale training and Hopwood Hall College.”

The company, whose clients include schools and health trusts around the region, is planning to take more staff on and expand next year, with the help of the council’s dedicated growth hub advisor.

Councillor Richard Farnell, leader of the council, said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome a new company to the borough. The message that Rochdale is open for business is clearly resonating, with many successful companies choosing to come and invest in Rochdale. It looks like Digital Telecomms UK have a busy few years ahead of them and I wish them every success.”
