Manchester Central has appointed Shaun Hinds to the role of chief executive officer.

Hinds, who currently heads up international operations for BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, will join the business in early June when current CEO Angie Robinson retires.

Hinds, who has more than 25 years’ experience working across hospitality, property and business service sectors, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Manchester Central team at such an exciting time, as the venue celebrates 10 years of success since its rebrand.

“To be asked to lead the team of this prestigious facility in the heart of this great city is a true privilege. The venue has gone from strength to strength under Angie’s leadership and I am looking forward to taking the helm and to help write the next chapter in the history of this illustrious landmark venue.”

Charlie Cornish, chairman of Manchester Central and CEO of Manchester Airport Group (MAG), said: “Angie has led Manchester Central to significant success, enabling the venue to cement its position as a world class venue. Although we are sad to see her step down, Shaun has a wealth of experience and is perfectly placed to maximise Manchester Central’s future growth opportunities. I’m delighted to welcome him to the venue.”

The venue is celebrating a decade of success since becoming Manchester Central in 2007.
