A man remains in a stable condition in hospital this morning having sustained serious injuries in a hit and run in the City Centre in the early hours.

He was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa and was carried for around 15 metres after the initial collision before falling off the car, ‎which then drove over him in Bloom St.

A women was also hit in the incident but did not sustain serious injury and has since been discharged from hospital 

Detective Inspector Rebecca Boyce of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “We are in the early stages of our enquiries and still gathering all the facts about what took place. 
“I understand that people will be concerned by this shocking incident but I want to assure everybody that we have launched a full investigation.

“We have a team of detectives carrying out enquiries this morning and I would ask that anybody who believes they have information which can assist them to get in touch.”
