Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Announces Biggest Ever Winter Programme from Manchester Airport

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are continuing to expand their operations from Manchester Airport with the launch of their biggest ever winter flights and holidays programme for 2017/18.

The leading leisure airline and package holiday company is building on its 2016 success by adding nearly 100,000 EXTRA SEATS for its Winter 17/18 programme, with even more flights and extended season lengths on popular destinations. Over 700,000 seats are now on sale from Manchester Airport to a choice of 24 winter warmers, cool cities and super ski destinations across the Mediterranean and Europe, an impressive 15% uplift on this year.

The programme means Jet2holidays is offering its largest ever winter range, and with everything wrapped up in one package, holidaymakers have access to great value package breaks across thousands of 2-5 star hotels, with Jet2.comflights, industry leading 22kg baggage allowance and airport transfers included, through a £60 per person deposit. Offering full ATOL protection, Jet2holidays also includes free infant places on all holidays as well as 0% credit card fees.

Next winter will see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays operate their biggest ever winter sun programme from Manchester Airport, with almost 400,000 seats to winter sun destinations, a 24% increase.  This includes huge growth to the Canary Islands, with up to 20 weekly flights and 200,000 seats in total. As well as massive expansion to Paphos (+126%) and Larnaca (+76%), the programme also sees strong growth and extended programmes to popular winter sun destinations such as Alicante (seven weekly flights, including two flights on Saturdays), Malaga (four weekly flights) and Majorca (three weekly flights).

The growth is not just limited to winter sun destinations. On the back of its biggest ever ski programme this winter, even more seats will be added to the company’s Winter 17/18 programme from Manchester Airport, giving customers a fantastic range of ski options. The popularity of Jet2CityBreaks means that there is 9% growth to city break destinations next winter.

This is the latest in a number of growth announcements from Jet2.com and Jet2.holidays this year. The company has launched two new bases at Birmingham and London Stansted Airports, along with the purchase of 30 new Boeing 737-800 airplanes and the creation of around 1,000 new jobs, including over 300 in Manchester. In addition to today’s announcement, the company launched its biggest ever Summer programme for 2017 earlier this year, and the accolades have been pouring in, with Jet2.com been voted the ‘UK’s Top Airline’ and ‘Most Loved Airline’ by users of TripAdvisor and Skytrax respectively.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “This is a very exciting time for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and today’s announcement is yet another step on our ambitious growth plans from Manchester Airport. Our biggest ever winter programme gives local people more opportunity than ever to visit their favourite sun and city destinations all-year-round, as well as more choice for hitting the best slopes in Europe. With the increased number of flights and holiday options available, we’re delighted to offer customers the chance to enjoy the best that Europe has to offer on our award winning airline.”

Stephen Turner, Commercial Director at Manchester Airport, said: “It’s incredibly pleasing to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays increasing their presence from Manchester Airport for Winter 2017/18. Their continued growth and destination choice is testament to their commitment to the North and clearly shows the demand from the 22 million people in our catchment area to fly from Manchester.”
