The organisers of the inaugural JD Presents: The British Sound Project are celebrating its hugely successful debut at Victoria Warehouse, which took place at the weekend.
A host of VIP guests attended the indoor festival, including Manchester United legends, Gary Neville and Bryan Robson, along with England manager, Sam Allardyce. Maxine Peake and her co-star, Michelle Butterly – who are currently starring in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Royal Exchange – also joined the masses to catch Primal Scream’s late headline set.

Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton was also amongst the music fans at the event, which was hosted by Virgin Radio’s Tim Cocker and featured performances from Black Grape, Badly Drawn Boy, Reverend and The Makers and future stars, Alias Kid and Glass Caves.
The British Sound Project organisers were forced to change the name of the event (formerly called The Brit Project) and re-brand all promotional material, following a threat of legal action from the Brit Awards. But the last-minute changes didn’t affect the success of the night.
Event co-promoter, Steve Wood: “The support has been tremendous – we’re already planning the next event and will be announcing details very soon. We’d like to thank everyone who came along on Saturday, as well as all the media who’ve supported us in Manchester and beyond.”
