Police have released CCTV after a woman was robbed in Lower Cheetham earlier this month

The incident happened shortly before 11.55am on Tuesday 7 February on Lecester Road, Lower Cheetham.

A 39-year-old woman was on Lecester Road when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her handbag.

He dragged her several feet across the road as she gripped onto her handbag before he managed to snatch the handbag and flee the scene.

Officers have released CCTV following the robbery and are appealing for information.

Police Constable Colin Chamberlain of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “The terrifying lengths the offender went to to rob a woman of her handbag is truly shocking.

“As part of the investigation, we would like to speak to the person in the CCTV so if anyone recognises them or has any information about the robbery, please get in touch with us.”
