The beloved puppy that was stolen during a burglary in Stretford has been reunited with his relieved owners.

Five-month-old Bobbie was stolen during a burglary that took place on Hancock Street in the early hours of Tuesday 28 March

Following a public appeal made for his safe return, the Shih Tzu cross Maltese pup was found on a street in Withington on Saturday 8 April and taken to a vet where he was scanned and his true owners identified.

Bobbie was found to be in a good condition and the people who found him stayed at the vet to keep him company until his overjoyed owners arrived to pick him up.

Unfortunately the laptop, tablet and jewellery that were taken during the burglary remain outstanding.

Police Constable Lucy Nicholas, of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “Thankfully Bobbie has now been found safe and well, much to the joy of his relieved owners who had been left devastated by his disappearance.

“The appeal for his safe return received an overwhelming response which I believe had a big influence on him being found and I would like to thank the public for their help.
“Unfortunately, there are still a number of outstanding items that were stolen during the burglary and we are still appeal for anybody with information about those responsible to please come forward.”
