Police release CCTV in bid to track down Rusholme armed robbers

Police have released CCTV footage after armed robbers targeted a mobile phone shop in Rusholme in the middle of February

Shortly before 5.45pm on Saturday 18th two men, one armed with an axe and a black handgun, went into a mobile phone shop on Wilmslow Road and threatened staff.

The man who wasn’t carrying a weapon jumped over the counter and filled a bag with mobile phones, before both fled on foot along Wilmslow Road and onto Grandale Street.

Police have released CCTV footage in a bid to identify two men.

Detective Constable Sam Goldie of GMP’s City of Manchester Team said: “I am keen to identify the two men pictured in the footage and I also appeal to anyone who saw the robbery or have information about who is responsible, to get in touch.

“The staff members weren’t hurt on this occasion, but to be confronted by men armed with weapons must have been terrifying and we have launched an investigation to track down the offenders.”
