An Oldham man who lured young boys into his home before sexually abusing them, has been jailed for eighteen years

Harry Wolfe aged 59 of Fletcher Close was found guilty of eight counts of sexual offences following a seven-day trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court

During the late 90s and early noughties, Wolfe, known only as ‘Corolla’ to the children who played near his house, would coerce young people into his home with promises of alcohol and cigarettes.

After gaining their trust and luring them into a false sense of security, by making them believe he was their friend, he would sexually abuse them.

In September 2016, one of his victims disclosed the offences and Wolfe was arrested.

He will remain on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and was served a sexual harm prevention order.

Detective Sergeant Chris Julien of GMP’s Oldham Operation Phoenix Team, said: “Wolfe stole the childhood of these men, ripping them away from the normal life they should have been leading and plummeting them into a world of sexual abuse, all for his own disgusting and depraved gratification.

“He preyed on children from the comfort of his own home and took advantage of them in the most horrifically unimaginable way.

“Although the offences happened some time ago, he is now in a place where he has no choice but to think about the pain and hurt he horrendously inflicted.

“I want today’s sentence to make it clear that no matter when or where it happened, we will continue to do whatever we can to put monsters like Wolfe behind bars.”
