Police cells to be used as spas or treatment rooms, markets, theatres, creative spaces and museums. These are just some of the ideas for a rejuvenated London Road Fire Station.

Allied London, who took over the Grade II listed building in November 2015, asked for the public’s suggestions for the future use of the building and have now released a report summarizing all the suggestions, telling the respondents that they have been inspired.

 The clear winners for the Courtyard use were Market and Event space, thee open air environment at the centre of the development was highly commented upon and there is a keen interest to keep this area open to the public.
The next highest rated uses were Garden and Pop-Ups the garden use has been in circulation for some time and pop-up retail/ food and beverage is another exciting potential use.

Restaurant was by far themost commonly used term for the potential uses of the Basement. is appeared more than double the amount of time as the next most frequent term.There was a strong desire to see the space use for Museum, Arts  and Pub or drinking establishment.

The most common proposal for the Court House was as a Film or TV Production set, while the most common terms for Cells were uses such as Museum and Treatment and Spa Rooms.

Allied will be undertaking further public consultation over the next few months
