Better – the UK’s largest network of public gyms and leisure centres – will host an open day on,Saturday 27 August at Manchester Aquatics Centre to get more people more active in our local community and celebrate Team GB’s achievements at the Rio 2016 Games.

The event is part of I Am Team GB – a nationwide campaign that has inspired thousands of UK clubs to open their doors to new participants. This campaign is brought to you by ITV and The National Lottery, working with the British Olympic Association, UK Sport and supported by Join In, to inspire the Great British public to take part in sport.

ITV Group Marketing and Research Director, Rufus Radcliffe, said: “We’re delighted to have Better as one of our partners supporting I Am Team GB on 27th August. Better are encouraging local communities to get active especially with their free open day this weekend and of course supporting the nation’s biggest sports day.”

The open day running from 9am to 4.30pm will have sports and activities for the whole family to join in with, including swimming, water polo and spinning.

Main Pool:

9am – 12pm Free Swimming For children – Any Age

12pm – 1pm Free Swimming, Flumes, Floats and Swimming -Any Age

1pm – 2pm COMAST Swimming Session (25m Pool) – Ages 8+ and able to swim 25m.

Limited to 12 places

1.30pm – 2.30pm Free Swimming, Flumes, Floats and Swimming – Any Age

2pm – 3pm COMAST Swimming Session (25m Pool) – Ages 16+ and able to swim 25m.

Limited to 12 places

Diving Pit:

1pm – 2pm Water Polo Session – Ages 8+ and able to swim 25m. Limited to 25 places

2pm – 3pm Water Fun and Team Games – Ages 8+ and able to swim 25m. Limited to 25

3pm – 4pm Rookie Lifeguard Training Session – Ages 10+ and able to swim 25m Limited
