A group of twentysomethings in Manchester have developed and grown the phenomenally successful UK media company, Social Chain, in just under a few years.
Founded by Steve Bartlett (22) and Dom McGregor (21), this UK media company offers something that no other marketing agency in Europe can claim; the ability to make up to 66 million people see a certain social media message at the same time.
For the first time in Manchester on the 3rd September, founder Steve Bartlett will tell guests at an exclusive event at start-up and entrepreneur platform Hello Work at The Old Granada Studios, how Social Chain developed the idea for their company and the secrets to their meteoric rise in such a short space of time.

The event is the first is a series of First Time Founders events to be held at Hello Work.

Social Chain places the global youth market at the core of its business. It is Bebo’s exclusive marketing partner and has already built and developed a line-up of impressive creative campaigns for global brands including Microsoft, Spotify, Just-Eat, ASOS and Haribo. It hosts a network of community Twitter channels, celebrity channels, a mass blogging and vlogging network and has an influence over a sizeable chunk of Facebook and Instagram to boot.

Social Chain has also pioneered a method of marketing called ‘The Thunderclap’ in which they subtly talk about a product from hundreds of different social media channels all within the same short time frame, which turns it into a trending topic online.
At the session, Steve will discuss how it felt to drop out of Manchester Metropolitan University to become the CEO of Europe’s largest influencer marketing agency and why he has chosen to stay and headquarter the business in Manchester.
Alex Hill from host Hello Work, one of the UK’s first workplace platforms dedicated to entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovative companies said, “We’ve wanted to hear from Social Chain for a while now. We’re intrigued to find out more about their success story at the first of our exclusive new First Time Founders events.

“Here at Hello Work, we’ve created a strong support system to help young businesses and entrepreneurs grow and develop. Community is at the core of what we do, which is why it’s so important for us to create such innovative and inspiring events and networking opportunities for our members and guests. This event promises to be one of our best yet.”
