Industrial Action on the Northern Rail network is expected to brings trains to a halt across Greater Manchester next Monday.

Most Northern services are not expected to run. Any services that do run will be working to a revised timetable according to Transport for Greater Manchester

There will be no Northern trains before 7am or after 7pm.

The 24-hour strike runs between midnight Sunday and midnight Monday, with some disruption also expected first thing on Tuesday 14 March as service patterns re-form.

The dispute surrounds the controversy over drivers having to operate doors on trains, in similar circumstances to that which has effected Southern Rail.

Guards and driver members on Arriva Rail North, the Company behind Northern Rail have voted for both strike action and action short of a strike after the company failed to give assurances on the future role of the guard on their services.
