Candice Brown, Great British Bake Off Winner 2016, will be launching her brand new cookbook ‘Comfort’ with her first ever book signing following her Foodies Festival demonstrations over the weekend at Tatton Park Foodies Festival.

Meet TV chef Rosemary Shrager and Nisha Katona of The Mowgli Street Food, Aiden Byrne of The Church Green, Lorna Robertson of MasterChef 2017 and even learn to cook with beer with Melissa Cole at Foodies Festival, which returns with top chefs, delicious food and a new Healthy Living Zone.

When asked about returning to Foodies Festival, Rosemary Shrager said “I love cooking in the Chef’s Theatre at Foodies Festival and I’m really looking forward to returning to the Foodies kitchen this year.  I love having the opportunity to share my top tips with the visitors at the festival and to inspire aspiring chefs to try out new recipes at home, not to mention the excuse to wander around the foodie delights at the festival itself!”

Nisha Katona, food writer, Indian cookery teacher, author of Pimp My Rice and founder of Mowgli Street Food, is joining the Foodies Festival line up.

Nisha says “I’m really excited to join Foodies Festival for the first time and share my street food inspired dishes and tips with local foodies”. Nisha opened her first street food restaurant in 2014 and the retired barrister has gained a worldwide following for her series of youtube videos.

From Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown to baking extraordinaire Charlotte White and top local cake-makers and patisserie chefs, the Cakes and Desserts theatre is set to expand to include not only top local bakers but also local chefs renowned for their outstanding desserts.

From delectable desserts to show-stopping cake towers, these chefs and bakers will be inspiring visitors to reach for their spatulas and whisks at home to recreate their delicious summer bakes.

Avid bakers can get hands on with our practical baking masterclasses or bring along your best bake to enter our very own Foodies Bake Off competition judged at 3pm each day with a KitchenAid Mini for the winner! The Chocolate, Cake and Dessert Village with freshly baked breads, sponges, tarts, jellies and desserts gives you the opportunity to taste, decorate and learn from local experts. Afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the beautifully decorated Vintage Tea Room, where teas, handmade cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam are served on china from a tea trolley by vintage styled tea ladies and gentlemen, and vintage music for ambience.

There is a focus on health and wellness in the Healthy Living Zone at each festival. Ask your health and fitness questions or learn delicious healthy recipes from top chefs or join a masterclass. Nutrition expert and Great British Bake Off finalist Ugne Bubnaityte will be cooking mouth-watering ‘Healthy Living & Guilt Free Recipes’ and Nomad Health gluten free baking who will teach you how to have your cake and eat it.

The zen healthy living area will be run by Pure Yoga Cheshire and will provide a daily timetable of yoga classes from top local yoga studios, all included with the price of your ticket. Alongside this, talks from industry leaders and demonstrations from the UK’s top nutritionists will arm you with all the knowledge and inspiration you’ll need to keep healthy and still enjoy delicious food. The Kids Cookery School is a chance for the whole family to join in while the children are introduced to new food and flavours from around the world. There will be fun science inspired kids cookery with Kiddy Cook leading classes on ‘Marvellous Microbes’, science experiments you can eat, making sherbet and ‘Fizz! Bang! Wallop!’ classes on how Co2 makes dough rise as they make bread bubble bombs, carbon dioxide rockets and delicious dough balls with homemade garlic butter with the kids. In addition there will be outdoor activities, simple crafts, toys, books, bouncy castles and trampolines, giant hula hoops, giant Jenga, chess and garden games. Private toilets and a nursing area will also be included.

Expert mixologists and sommeliers, including Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe, will host a full timetable of masterclasses on wine, whisky and champagne and cheese tastings in the Drinks Theatre each day. There’s a Beer for That will be leading craft beer and food pairings, so there’s something for everyone.
