Celebrate the arrival of Flying Scotsman to East Lancashire Railway this weekend in true Scot style and get onboard for free – all you have to do is dust off your tartan attire and finest kilts.
On Friday 24th August, the first hundred kilt wearing Scotsman fans, of any age, to arrive at the Bolton Street Station by 10:00am, will get a free return train ride behind Flying Scotsman on the 10.30am Bury to Heywood service. As well as unlimited travel on other steam and diesel services throughout the day.
It marks the first of two sets of dates where train lovers across the region have the opportunity to travel through the Irwell Valley behind the iconic steam train.
Flying Scotsman will be at East Lancashire Railway from the 24th – 27th August and the 5th – 8th September. Tickets start from £15 per adult and £10 per child.
The promotion only applies to the first 100 people that arrive at the East Lancashire
Railway Bury Bolton Street Station (Bolton Street, Bury. BL9 0EY) wearing a tartan kilt.
Those successful will receive a return train ride behind Flying Scotsman on the 10.30am
Bury to Heywood service, as well as unlimited travel on other steam and diesel services
throughout the day. The tickets are for the specific date and time and cannot be exchanged
or refunded. The promotion only applies to those wearing tartan kilts, not the entire party.
Once the first 100 people have obtained the offer the promotion will be terminated. East
