Foundry Film Studios welcomed hundreds of creatives from TV, film, fashion, music and advertising industries to their official launch party in Salford on Thursday 27th October.
The £1.5million facility, which offers over 8,000 sq ft of space – themed a dark fashion style house party which saw revellers party until the small hours and enjoy music from DJs Stuart Chapman, Martin Moffatt and Will Tramp, entertainment from The Cat’s Pyjamas, fire breathing performers as well as drinks from Liquor Store and food from Luncheonette.  

Foundry Film Studios Producer Madeleine Penfold was the organiser of the legendary party and said: “The last month and a half has been spent pulling in contacts that I knew were right for the launch of the party, luckily enough I got in early enough to book everyone I wanted and it seemed to pay off. From some of my favourite Manchester DJs to the visual artists that worked for weeks in the lead up to the event, we all came together to make the space as amazing as possible and throw one hell of a party for our guests! I’ve learnt from this one and it’s made me hungry to get planning the next event and to work with more talented individuals.”

The Foundry Film Studios is a purposely-built venue located adjacent to MediaCityUK. 

It is an innovative and adaptable space, designed specifically for the creation of film, TV and advertising shoots and a space where events producers can deliver innovative concepts for up to 600 people in a unique and inspiring environment.  

It home to two expansive studios, with one studio containing one of the largest infinity coves in the northwest. The facilities are complemented by edit facilities, dressing rooms, creative breakout areas, a mezzanine platform, bar area and its own in-house collective of directors, producers and editors.

Jason Tyldesley, CEO at Sofology, who has recently used the new facility said: 

“Foundry Film Studios have created a production space and workflow that allows Sofology to not only shoot the big TV campaigns, but to also turn around high quality, high volume product films on a continuous basis”.

The space that has been thoughtfully designed to craft and deliver an artistic hub where content producers can be supported in a creative, yet digital and agile environment, technology boundaries can be challenged and where their team of mobile film makers have the ability to spring into action to capture footage remotely to be beamed back into the facility.

The team (currently about 10 full-time staff) has a proven track record and the experience of working to a wide-range of briefs to produce ground-breaking content for online, social and TV and the facilities to take an idea from concept, to production, into post-production – all under the same roof, whilst being able to stream onto different devices in or outside the venue. This desirable way of working means content can be viewed and tested on mobile, desktop and tablet whilst in the production process.

Foundry Studios’ in-house team are already working with fashion and retail clients producing content for TV and online.Foundry Film Studios was funded by Marketing Media Investment Group. 

It is part of a Capital&Centric development, which is set to be home to a range of other up and coming creative businesses.
