A 15-year-old boy from Oldham has been charged after a man was dragged out of his car and attacked in a tram car park last month.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon and has been bailed to appear at Tameside Youth Court on Tuesday 1 May 2018.

A man in his 40s had been attacked at Derker Tram stop car park on the evening of the 22nd March

He was taken to hospital where he was found to have a fractured skull and badly severed ear. He is now in a stable condition at home.

A 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains on bail pending further enquiries until 14 May 2018.
