As the festive season unfolds acclaimed tapas restaurant El Gato Negro has introduced a number of gin specials to add a little extra sparkle to the drinks menu.
Using premium gins and mixers, each drink will be priced at £11; the specials are limited and are available on a first come first served basis in the countdown to Christmas.
Starting this week, guests can enjoy three gin special cocktails, including:
Mombasa Strawberry Gin is crafted in Andalusia, using local Spanish strawberries; similar to a London Dry Gin, it includes a grain in production alongside juniper berries.
The Mombasa Strawberry special at El Gato Negro has been lovingly designed by Alberto, the restaurant’s in-shore trainer, to showcase a Southern Spanish gin.
Zygorium Marmalade was the first distiller of gin in Manchester. Boasting fresh, citrus flavours, this local gin is perfectly paired with tonic and a wedge of lemon.
The No 3 Gin
Carefully crafted by El Gato Negro’s Bar Manager Pete, the No 3 Gin offers a unique take on the classic gin martini. Available throughout the festive season, this gin will be mixed with a Fever-Tree tonic with juniper berries and lime.
A fourth gin special will also be introduced on 18th December –
Arbikie Gin is made on the east-coast of Scotland by master distiller, Kirsty Black. This Christmas special is best mixed with a Fever-Tree tonic, blueberries, a little bit of kale and a lime wedge, and has been designed by our in-house Scot, Caitlin.
Gin enthusiasts with a taste for strawberries and marmalade are encouraged not to delay as the first two gin specials will only be available for the next two weeks.
El Gato Negro is open 12pm – 10pm everyday up until Christmas Eve, when the restaurant will be open 12pm – 8pm. The restaurant is closed on Christmas Day and will re-open on Boxing Day 12pm – 8pm, returning to normal hours until New Year’s Eve, when the restaurant is open for normal service 12pm – 3pm.
