Police have released an e-fit after a young couple were subjected to an aggravated burglary while their baby was asleep inside in Rusholme

Police were called to a address to Delvino Walk to reports of a burglary in the early hours of Monday 9th Jan

Having forced his way into the property, a man made his way through the house to let another man into the property through the front door.

One of the victims was then violently restrained in his living room by one of the men and threatened with a knife as his wife tended to their baby in another room.

On hearing the disturbance, his wife came into the living room where she was pushed to the floor before the offenders fled with a small amount of cash.

The couple both suffered cuts to their hands after trying to defend themselves.

Officers investigating the incident have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Mike Reed, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “This is a shocking set of events, which has left a young couple petrified.

“These men have subjected this couple to a terrifying ordeal while their baby slept in the house and it is fortunate that no-one was seriously injured.

“I am appealing to anyone that knows anything about this incident to contact us immediately; it could prove to be the missing piece of the jigsaw that will help us catch the men responsible.

“I would also urge anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit to contact us.”
