Droylsden will see this as three points thrown away after battling back into this game only to see two late goals from fellow relegation strugglers Harrogate Railway condemned them to their third consecutive league defeat.

A header by centre half Lee O’Brien had put the home team in the driving seat with twenty minutes left but the Bloods were left rueing the opportunities they created during much of the second half when they were on top. The away team took the lead after just ten minutes when Ryan Sharrocks beat the offside trap and rounded the keeper Ramsbottom.

Ramsbottom saved well from a free kick but at the other end a great move from a lively Nyal Bell on the right wing saw James Hampson slip with the goal at his mercy.

Harrogate could have made it two, only a fine tackle by Ed Dryden in the penalty area preventing Steve Bromley from scoring.

Droylsden equalized just after half time, skipper James Hampson firing home and the goal rejuvenated the Bloods who looked dangerous every time they went forward.Billy Hassler Cregg replacing Nyal Bell but it was good work from the left by Daniel Grimshaw who cross was brilliantly heard home by Lee O’Brien for Droylsden to take the lead with twenty minutes left.

However the Bloods defensive frailties were to let them down. Substitute Danny Barratt beating the offside trap to round the keeper and with minutes to go, Barratt crossed from the right for Steve Bromley to score the winner.

Droylsden pressed hard for the equalizer,a shout for a handball in the penalty area was turned down and Lee OBrien was denied an equalizer as his header was cleared off the line.

The defeat leaves Droylsden fourth from bottom with four wins and two draws from their sixteen games. They face two tricky away games with a trip to Clitheroe next Saturday followed by a journey to Scarborough.
