HOSPITALITY group Drake & Morgan has appointed Roland Dransfield to launch The Anthologist Bar & Restaurant in Manchester’s St Peter’s Square.

Manchester based agency Roland Dransfield, which launched its consumer division 11 months ago, won a competitive pitch to land the account. The win comes on the back of the agency’s much-talked-about 20 Stories launch and is among a raft of hospitality account wins for the PR agency in the last year.

Roland Dransfield has been charged with delivering a fully-fledged PR launch campaign, covering media relations, social media and digital plus organisation and management of the launch event itself.

The Anthologist will be Drake & Morgan’s second site in the city centre, the ‘big sister’ to The Refinery in Spinningfields, bringing a constant flow of new drinks and dishes from across the globe, a unique range of innovative cocktails and all-day dining.

This new northern bar and restaurant is located in one of Manchester’s most sought-after locations, offering an everyday escape right in the heart of the city. The beautiful external planted terrace will offer all-year round alfresco drinking and dining, perfect for people-watching with a glass of rosé.

Drake and Morgan operates more than 20 bars and restaurants, mainly in London, but also in Scotland and Manchester. The Anthologist launches at St Peter’s Square in Manchester on July 2nd this year, with an invite-only launch party planned for July 5th.

A Drake & Morgan spokesman said: “We’re really excited to be working with Roland Dransfield to launch our second site in the heart of Manchester city centre.

“The agency’s pitch demonstrated unrivalled expertise and creativity underpinned by a solid contacts book full to the brim with the city’s best influencers. Roland Dransfield were the clear favourites when it came to appointing the right agency to bring The Anthologist to Manchester.”.

Adam Moss, Roland Dransfield’s Head of Consumer, said: “We are so pleased to have been appointed to launch The Anthologist in Manchester. There was an immediate connection with their team at pitch stage, in terms of both personality and creative approach, and we’re thrilled that we’ve beaten off some very stiff competition to land such a prestigious account.

“As you’d expect, we’ve seen the plans for The Anthologist and it is going to be fantastic addition to the city’s hospitality offering. The fact The Anthologist is opening its doors at the start of the booming summer season in one of the most sought-after locations in the city centre means we expect big things for the site once the doors are open on July 2nd.”
