The Village Screen will be popping up this February inside one of Manchester’s most historical and spectacular locations Gorton Monastery. The Village Screen runs cinematic events in quirky locations across Sheffield, Manchester and the Peak District. The team behind The Village Screen aims to show classic films in spectacular venues including underused buildings.

If you are single or coupled up and fancy a spot of Anti-Valentine’s fun, why not ditch your usual dinner plans and enjoy a screening of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo; Juliet on 09/02/2018, an afternoon screening of Sister Act on Saturday or an evening screening of our Weddings and a Funeral on 10/02/2018.

The screenings will be proceeded by The Village Screen’s DJ will be spinning the best Valentine’s classics. Street food to fall in love with, will also be available, provided by Dim Sum Su and Shoot the Bull.

The Monastery’s bar will be open serving local beers, wines, Prosecco and soft drinks plus The Monastery’s Victorian Pantry will be serving hot drinks and cakes.

The Gorton Monastery

Tickets are priced at £15.00 for adults and £12.00 for concessions. Audience members will
be seated on vintage deckchairs within the Great Nave of The Monastery. Online booking fees apply you can book tickets here.

Timings:

Romeo & Juliet (09/02/2018) – doors at 19:00, screening at 20:30.
Sister Act (10/02/2018) – doors at 15.30, screening at 17.00.
Four Weddings and a Funeral (10/02/2018) – doors at 19.30, screening at 21.00.

(Sister Act is suitable for those aged 8+. Evening screenings are suitable for those aged 16+.)
