Take a tour of Angers, Wigan Borough’s twin town, without needing your passport at a photographic exhibition in Wigan town centre.
Photographs taken by Angers resident Thierry Huguenin will go on show in the Grand Arcade from Monday 6th July for two weeks showcasing the culture of the western French town.
Among the pictures on show will be the vineyards of Angers along with the architectural wonder of the Theatre du Ralliement.
And fittingly alongside those images will be ones from the Wigan Photographic Society highlighting the borough’s own culture and landmarks such as Scotsman Flash as around 60 large pictures will go on show during the fortnight long exhibition.
Unveiling the photographs on Monday will be the Mayor of Wigan Councillor Susan Loudon alongside members from Wigan Photographic Society.
The Mayor said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our twin town Angers with who we have had a fantastic partnership with for many years. And it is also a great opportunity for us to show some of the best bits of Wigan taken by our own very talented photographers.”
The exhibition will run until Monday 20th July in the Grand Arcade shopping centre.
