Selfridges welcomed Catherine Tyldesley, who plays The Rovers Return barmaid Eva Price, to pull the first pint at their Christmas pop up pub, The Exchange Arms. The pub will feature specially crafted ales from local brewery Alphabet Brewery Company (ABC).
Tyldesley commented on The Exchange Arms saying, “I love Christmas shopping and the atmosphere in the city centre as everyone is rushing about and picking presents for loved ones. Enjoying a festive tipple is the perfect way to finish off a busy shopping day.”
The pop up ale house will host some great events in the run up to Christmas offering exhausted shoppers a place to refuel and relax during hectic shopping sessions.
Tuesday 5th December will see the pub host a meet the maker tasting and knowledge event with three different distillers in attendance. Guest will be treated to interesting facts about the gin and cocktails on offer. With the drinks luxurious bar snack canapés will be provided specially made to compliment each drink. Tickets for the event are £25 each and are available here.
The following evening will offer attendees the chance to taste six different local craft beers and snack on some classic pub nibbles. On hand will be an expert from ABC to guide you through the evening giving advice on how to analyse delicious beers. Tickets for this event are priced at £15 and are provided here.
Champagne tasting is on offer at The Exchange Arms on the 7th December. A variety of different fizz selected by Selfridges experts, who will be on hand at the event to talk customers through the history of champagne, will be on offer. Canapés such as Mussels and Caviar will also be available. Tickets for the champagne tasting are priced at £25 and are available here.
