Images have been released of the proposed HS2 station at Manchester Airport as the consultation process begins over the route of the HS2 line into the city.

The station at Manchester Airport will include two platforms, plus two tracks for non-stopping trains. Trains will then continue towards the new proposed Manchester Piccadilly Station.

Details of the route of the line from Crewe to Manchester were announced in the middle of November last year after the government confirmed that it will go ahead with building the entire £56bn HS2 high-speed train line.

The line will run from Crewe to Manchester Airport and then on to a new station next to Piccadilly in the city centre.

Plans for the line coming into Manchester include a 7.9 mile 45m from Wythenshawe to Ardwick.

Anybody with a 1km of the line are in the ‘consultation zone’ and will have received one of 130,000 letters sent out in Greater Manchester.

Anyone living on the tunnel will say HS2 not be entitled to any compensation as the Company believes that modern tunnelling methods will not impact on their homes with the tunnel being 45m below ground.

You will get the opportunity to see the plans and comment at the following events.
