TELEVISION and radio stars were out in force last night at Hilton Manchester Deansgate’s 12th annual Star Ball.

Celebrity attendees included Hollyoaks star Jazmine Franks, radio DJ Mike Toolan and Miss Manchester 2018, Fatime Gashi, alongside key movers and shakers, and businesses in the city.

Guests enjoyed a Champagne reception, glamorous dinner, entertainment from Britain’s Got Talent’s Collabro, and a charity auction to raise funds for the DM Thomas Foundation and Global’s Make Some Noise.

Raffle prizes included an at-home gospel choir performances, luxury stays including Dubai and Cairo, and a signed Manchester United shirt, which contributed to the fundraising.

The DM Thomas Foundation transforms the lives of young disadvantaged people through a wide range of projects and has worked with Hilton Manchester Deansgate for a number of years.

Global’s Make Some Noise awards grants to specially selected projects up and down the country, providing vital support for youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

Hilton Manchester general manager, Robert Dodwell, said: “The Star Ball is one of our favourite events of the year and last night proved to be another huge success. We’d like to thank the famous faces and friends of the Hilton who attended and contributed to a huge fundraising total for two fantastic charities.”
