With Stockport’s very own Liam Broady drawn against Andy Murray in the first round, Tennis fans in Manchester needn’t miss a second of the Wimbledon action this summer as First Street’s free 20 sqm outdoor sports screen will be broadcasting live BBC coverage of every Championship match from Monday 27th June right through to the final on Sunday 10th July.

First Street’s Wimbledon screening will be supported by the numerous First Street businesses including: HOME which will be running an outdoor bar and offering the essential Wimbledon treat of strawberries and cream; Pizza Express will be firing up its pizza ovens with 30% off all takeaway food; and the Indian Tiffin Room will be providing takeaway curried delights. First Street’s newest addition the rustic Dockyard bar will also be involved.

Chairs and bean bags will be provided so viewers can watch the matches in comfort and there will be table tennis tables for those feeling more energetic.  

The event is open to everyone so if you want to bring the family along for a day out, or are an avid tennis fan then don’t miss First Street’s summer sports screening of the live Wimbledon action.  

Over the final weekend the Lawn Tennis Association will be offering free coaching at a pop up tennis court as well as street artists and live music throughout to appeal to the family crowd.

Tennis at First Street during Wimbledon 2016 will be the first of many free outdoor events at First Street and we hope everyone comes along to join in the fun.”

 The first centre court game will be live from 1pm and thought out the tournament everyone one will of course be cheering on Andy Murray – so make sure you get to First Street early to grab a deckchair!

There is on-site parking at First Street’s QPark and Metrolink access across the City to the Castlefield- Deansgate Metrolink stop.
