The Barlow RC High School in Manchester have won the School Science Competition ran by Love Energy Savings. The prizes included a £500 grant to their science department, a full energy audit and £50 Amazon voucher for participating students.

Bolton based business energy comparison company, Love Energy Savings has been on a mission to make school children throughout the UK more energy efficient at school and at home. Over the past 6 months, they have been running a competition challenging year 7-8 pupils, to create an informative poster on energy efficiency.

Love Energy Savings shortlisted the finalists and left it up to the public to choose the winning poster by voting on social media; the winning poster was the one that received the most likes.

The company launched the competition to encourage pupils to understand the importance of energy efficiency and respecting the environment.

Managing Director at Love Energy Savings, Phil Foster says:

“It’s so important to us that younger generations understand energy efficiency and the importance of reducing their carbon footprint.

We’ve really enjoyed looking through all the posters created by the different schools and we’re really happy to congratulate the pupils at The Barlow RC High School on their win, with all the hard work they’d put in, it’s no wonder they’ve grabbed first prize,

We’re also really impressed with the ten runner-up schools who we’ve also granted a free energy audit too!”
