Barry’s Bootcamp, the international fitness phenomenon which pioneered the boutique fitness sector in the UK since launching in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, 20 years ago, opens its first UK studio outside of London, Barry’s Manchester, on Saturday 1st December with half the proceeds from the opening weekend being donated to our friends Stand Up to Cancer.
Housed in the ABC Buildings, part of Allied London’s 17-acre St. John’s development, Barry’s Manchester will be part of a new cluster known as ‘Enterprise City’ which is purpose built for the creative, media and tech industries.
Sandy Macaskill, co-owner of Barry’s Bootcamp UK, says:
“We’re massively excited to be bringing Barry’s here to Manchester. This city is a byword for strength of spirit and character, gritty determination and community togetherness. These are just the kind of traits we see in our Barry’s clients around the world, so we really couldn’t think of a better place than Manchester to grow our family. It was really just a case of finding the right place, and as soon as we saw the ABC building we were like, sign us up! Allied’s vision for the area is very much aligned with our own, and now we just can’t wait to open up and get the classes started”.
Rochelle Silverstein, Associate Retail & Leisure director at Allied London, commented; “We’re so excited to welcome Barry’s as our first leisure tenant to open at ABC and Enterprise City. Barry’s is really raising the bar for Manchester’s health and wellness offer; bringing an incredible product to the market that we know the city will embrace. We’re committed to working with high quality and innovative operators, and we’re now well on our way with curating a great mix of activity at ABC and the wider St. John’s.”
Accommodating classes of up to 45 clients, Barry’s Manchester offers the tried, tested and much-loved Barry’s studio experience, enhanced by our trademark mix of red lights, mirrors, nightclub spec sound system, Woodway treadmills, and training from the country’s best instructors.
After class, clients are able to enjoy 5* changing facilities with complimentary towel service and luxury products. The new studio caters to clients’ healthy lifestyle goals, boasting the ever-popular Barry’s Fuel Bar, which serves up its nutritious post-workout protein shakes, as well as offering a range of Munch Fit Food healthy meals.
First opening in Los Angeles in 1998, Barry’s is the original indoor boutique studio offering and has gained a cult following worldwide, including here in the UK, for its effective, high-energy workouts and supportive community.
The Barry’s workout is an hour-long cardiovascular and strength workout, which works to “shock” the body in the most efficient and effective way to improve the cardiovascular system, burn fat and build muscle. The classes are taught by Barry’s expert trainers, who undergo the rigorous Barry’s instructor training programme, with classes running from 7.10am – 8.50pm every day of the week, with each day targeting a different muscle group.
An opening introductory rate sees class prices start at £18 for a single class with class packages also available
