Successful North West author Colette Snowdon will be in Rochdale on Saturday 23 April 2016 to discuss her acclaimed book ‘The Secret to Not Drowning’ as part of World Book Night.

Colette will be appearing at the town’s Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre at 6pm.

World Book Night is an annual event organised by the National Reading Agency. The evening is a chance for local people to share their love of books and celebrate reading.

‘The Secret to Not Drowning’ powerfully tells of a woman’s journey to break free from a controlling and abusive husband. The book was well received when first published last summer.

Punam Ramchurn, Rochdale Borough Council’s Literature & Ideas Festival director, said: “Colette’s narrative vividly captures the pain and misery that victims of domestic violence suffer. It’s a really powerful storyline.

”This promises to be a well-attended, interesting and thought provoking evening. We are looking forward to welcoming Colette to Rochdale, as we showcase the exciting World Book Night event to local residents.”

Tickets for the event are priced just £2.50.
