Greater Manchester Police have released details of an armed robbery that occurred early on Monday morning at a convenience store in Salford.

Police were called to the One Stop Shop on Langworthy Road, Salford around 6.20 after two men armed with knives entered the store from the direction of Edward Onyon Court.

They made threats towards employees and one female staff member received a cut to the face during a struggle with one of the offenders.They then fled towards a ginnel at the side of Edward Onyon Court with an empty cash box and a handful of scratchcards.

The two offenders are described as white. Both were wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and hoodies that were pulled over their heads. Both had scarves covering their faces under their hoods.One man was of stocky build and the other was of slim build.

Detective Constable Susan West from GMP’s Salford Division said: “This was a violent robbery committed in a busy store that is the heart of the community. It must have been terrifying for all concerned.

“Thankfully, the injury to the staff member is not serious. However, she and her colleagues have been left very shaken by the incident.

“I want to appeal to anyone who either witnessed the incident itself, has information about what happened or even suspects who may be involved, to come forward immediately.”
