Throughout our not so humble city of Manchester, we have a diverse and extensive range of entertainment venues offering everything you could ever possibly want or need. One kind of venue that we offer to locals and tourists alike is casinos, where visitors will find games ranging from roulette to slots, as well as plenty of poker variations. That said, which ones are the best? We thought we’d take a look.

Grosvenor Casino

As we’re sure our readers with a love for gaming will know, there are actually two Grosvenor Casinos located in Manchester: one in Soames and the other in Didsbury. While both are undeniably great places to visit, we have to say that the Didsbury establishment is superior to its sister site.

Found in Parrswood Entertainment Centre, the Didsbury casino is superior as it has an onsite a la carte restaurant, an incredibly contemporary bar and even a sports lounge. The gaming collection is also far more extensive, with plenty of roulette wheels, blackjack tables and slot machines to play. There are also plenty of poker tables, though if you’re a poker fanatic you may want to visit our next entry instead.

Genting Casino

Although Genting Casino may be a chain, we reckon that their establishment in Manchester is particularly special. Not only are there numerous games to play, but also a high-quality restaurant, a late bar and even exclusive member events including cocktail masterclasses. Situated on Portland Street, this Genting Casino is entirely dedicated to customers who enjoy table games such as blackjack, baccarat, roulette and poker.

The latter is particularly popular, with the casino offering both three-card poker and Texas hold’em poker – games that are rarely found within the same venue. In fact, usually the only place you can guarantee access to both these kinds of poker games in Manchester is online on desktops, tablet or occasionally on mobile – as is the case with online casino operator 888poker. Actually, playing online or on the go on a smartphone is one of the best ways to train before meeting adversaries in the flesh.

Manchester235 Casino

Still, while Grosvenor and Genting are undeniably great locations to visit, our winning Manchester casino is Manchester235. This is because Manchester235 is so much more than your everyday casino – it’s an entire, enormous entertainment centre. Situated in the city centre, within the Great Northern Warehouse, Manchester235 is home to a James Martin restaurant, numerous late-night bars and a show room where shows are held every day.

As for the large casino floor, it is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with very few exceptions. No membership is required, so everyone is invited to enter the casino and have fun playing games including slots, blackjack and roulette. In addition to this, there’s also a Poker Lounge that is entirely dedicated to poker tournaments and leisurely play.

So, next time you’re looking for a great Manchester night out, remember you have access to three, top-notch brick-and-mortar casinos unlike any other establishments in the United Kingdom. As always though, if you know of another casino venue that can match these that we’ve included please let us know in the comments below.
