Alan Maidment, 40,of Ludlow Avenue, Salford has been charged with murder and remains in custody.
He has also been charged with robbery, attempting to possess an offensive weapon and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.
He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 3 April
Emergency services were called to a property on Berry Street in Clifton on Wednesday 22 March to a report of a fire.
Following a search by firefighters, the body of 47-year-old Thomas Jones was discovered inside the property. A home office post mortem has now concluded that he died from multiple stab wounds.
