Manchester artist, Richard Cowley, has launched a three-day exhibition named ‘Rebuilding Manchester’ which celebrates Manchester’s architecture through a huge graffiti inspired photo collage installation.

Probably the only surrealist full time digital photo collager in the country, Richard creates one off commissions for clients across the country. Having developed his collaging techniques over 15 years, his work has featured in galleries and publications across the country.

The ‘Rebuilding Manchester’ installation is a graffiti inspired photo collage celebrating many of the old and new buildings of Manchester. It features a collage of thousands of images of Manchester in a fresh way turning photo collaging into a 3D space that you can walk around.

Richard said; “what is the point of a city if you don’t look up, and what it the point of buildings if you don’t appreciate the details.”

The innovative new installation has even been entered as a possible world record, so watch this space.

General Manager of the Renaissance Manchester, Cameron Mcneillie, who brought the installation to the city centre, added; “Evenings at Renaissance is a calendar of free events that allow guests and visitors to participate in intriguing and relevant business unusual experiences celebrating Mancheter’s food, drink, music, arts and culture. Richard’s installation is a true celebration if Manchester and were proud to be able to host it over the weekend for everyone to enjoy.”

The installation will be located at the Manchester Renaissance Hotel, Manchester city centre for 3  public viewing days from the 18th to the 20th March 2016.
