A seventy five year old man has died after being hit by a car on Chester Road last night.

An elderly man has died following a collision in Trafford.

The pedestrian from Stretford was involved in a collision with an Audi A2, suffered fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers and was treated by paramedics for shock.

No arrests have been made.

Chester Road was closed for six hours while investigation work was carried out.

Police Sergeant John Harrison-Gough, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting the family at this incredibly difficult time and our thoughts remain with them.

“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing and I would ask anyone who has any information, CCTV or dash-cam footage to please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

“I would also urge anyone that thinks they may have seen the elderly man walking in the area before the collision to please get in touch.”
