A murderer investigation has been launched and a man has been arrested after a woman was found dead at a house in Rochdale.
Police were called shortly before 2.55pm on Monday 27 February 2017, to reports that a woman was unresponsive at a house on Alder Road.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead. A Home Office post-mortem examination is due to take place today.

Officers have launched an investigation and a 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Chris Mannion of GMP’s Rochdale Borough, said: “This tragic set of circumstances has resulted in a family losing their loved one. My thoughts are with them at this extremely hard time.

“The investigation is in its early stages and we are combing through and examining each piece of evidence that is available to us at this time.
