A 40 year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital with multiple serious injuries after being hit by a minibus on Great Ancoats Street late last night.

The driver of the minibus remained at the scene which was by the Retail Parkand spoke with officers.

The road was closed for two hours while officers carried out forensic enquiries.

Sergeant Lee Westhead of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “An investigation has commenced to determine the circumstances of this collision.

“I would ask anyone who saw the collision, or saw anyone in or around the bus stop at around 11.45pm to contact us as soon as possible.

“My thoughts are with the victim’s family at this time and they are being offered every possible support. “
