She was then raped.

The men are both described as white, in their mid-30s and having Manchester accents.

The woman is receiving support from specially trained officers and enquiries into the incident, including examination of CCTV in the area, are ongoing.

Officers are encouraging anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Nicole Charlton of GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said: “We’ve got a full team of officers working to get this woman answers, thanks to her courageous actions to raise the alarm.

“I cannot stress the severity of what has happened and how important it is that people who have information that can help us build a fuller picture, get in touch.

“Did you see two men matching the description in the area around that time? Did you see anything suspicious or anything that didn’t feel quite right?

“Even if you think the information you have is insignificant, please report it to us so we can make that assessment – you never know, that could be the piece of information we need.”
