A man has been charged with a catalogue of driving offences after a woman died in a collision in Ardwick at the weekend.

Sabastine Aundy Anderson aged 34 of no fixed abode has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by careless driving whilst over the prescribed limit, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

He has been remanded to appear in custody at Manchester Magistrates Court today

Anderson was the driver of a a black VW Golf was travelling towards Hyde on the A57 when it collided with a grey Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction.

The passenger of the Micra, a woman who has since been formally identified as 73-year-old Pamela Richards, sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the Micra, a man in his 70s, remains in hospital in a serious condition.
