A twenty six year old pedestrian is fighting for his life following a collision in Shaw on Saturday morning.

The pedestrian, a 26-year-old man from Shaw, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition after suffering a serious head injury.

The incident happened just before midday when the twenty six year old man from Shaw was hit by a Vauxhall Astra on Crompton Way.The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers.No arrests have been made.

Police Sergeant Brian Orr of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are doing all we can to support the man’s family at this very traumatic time and our thoughts remain with him as he fights for his life in hospital.

“Our investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision remains ongoing and I would ask that anybody with information contacts the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

“We are appealing for anyone that witnessed the collision or may have any CCTV or dash-cam footage to please get in touch.”
